So, this has been a long time coming.  I’ve been playing around with the idea to start a blog for about a year now and it’s time to finally take the plunge.  To be honest, the things that were holding me back were, one, I wasn’t sure if I would have the time to even do this.  I mean, I am a Mom to 3 girls, run a Private Editing business, and a Portrait Photography business as well.  How in the heck would I even find time to get ready for the day let alone start a blog??!!  I’ve also been worried about why would anyone even want to hear from me?  Do I have anything that would interest the photography world?  I mean, hasn’t it been blogged already?  So, I put it out there and asked around, and you know what, several photographers as well as my clients gave me a big “YES!  Please do this!  We would love to hear insights, thoughts, know how..etc from a private editor!”  Well those sweet comments and encouraging words is what that put the fire in me that I needed.  Fast forward to today, and many hours of brainstorming and design work,  and BAM, a Janelle Joy blog is born!

Also, I need to get real here,  I am no writer.  No seriously!  Ask my husband who wants to slap his hand across his forehead every time he reads something I wrote.  I have constant grammar and spelling errors even with spell check.  (Don’t judge)  So I will do my best not to bore you with my posts or have you rolling on the floor laughing at all of my grammatical errors, but I make no promises that it will be anywhere near the standards of my grammar police husband.

So, I’m crazy excited for this journey and literally have so many ideas that I can’t wait to share in future posts.  I can’t wait to share with you my 12+ years of photography and editing knowledge.  I may even bring in a guest blogger now and then as well.  It’s going to be a fun ride and I’m thrilled and honored that you would join me.  If there is anything you would like to have me do a post on, don’t hesitate to email me with your thoughts!  You may just see it in a future post!
